Promoting Excellence : Special Opportunity Grants : Children's International Project on Palliative/Hospice Services (ChIPPS)

Promoting Excellence in End-of-Life Care supported an initial, two-day conclave meeting in Fall of 1998 that brought together a multidisciplinary, multinational group that set out to move forward the field of pediatric palliative and hospice medicine.

They were charged with creation of comprehensive practical resources for the care of children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The outcome of this meeting was consensus on critical issues facing the field of pediatric palliative care, and the development of strategies necessary to address those issues.

To date, this work resulted in two Promoting Excellence-supported projects -- the ChIPPS peer workgroup and the Compendium of Pediatric Palliative/Hospice Care.
