Web resources - Initial chapters for a free, interactive, web-based clinical pain and symptom research textbook are now available online. Edited by Mitchell Max and Joanne Lynn and funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, the (Interactive Textbook of Clinical Symptom Research) is intended to prepare beginning and advanced students for developing research proposals. The site also includes a directory of current grant opportunities relevant to pain and symptom research. Twenty-three additional chapters will be added to the site over the next 18 months.

Thanks to Janette Hoisington, the librarian for the National Council on the Aging, for developing a guide to assist older adults on how to find reliable health information on the Internet. Finding Reliable Consumer Health Information on the Internet is geared toward elders, but will be useful to any novice seeking information. (ABCD has asked that caregiving and end-of-life care be added to future versions!) Reprints are available by contacting Hoisington at janette.hoisington@noa.org.
