Washington, DC - Each year, the Hospice Foundation of America sponsors a nationwide teleconference on bereavement. The sixth annual program will air on April 14 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m., EDT. This year’s program will focus on "where we grieve" - whether we are at work, home, school, or in worship, grief affects our interactions with others. To date, more than 1600 sites have registered. To find a site in your community, call HFA at 202.638.5419 or e-mail them at telecon@hospicefoundation.org.
Cyberspace - The always-innovative Growth House, Inc. has established an innovative effort to provide a common network and user interface to major organizations involved with end-of-life care. Using Growth House technology and technical assistance, each participating organization offers information that is issue- or region-specific. Members of the Inter-Institutional Collaborating Network on End of Life Care can browse the information services offered by each group, keep up with developing programs and issues, and interact with others around the world.
Americans for Better Care of the Dying sponsors a conference focusing on national and state policy issues. The public may follow the board for the new Breakthrough Series on Improving Care for Patients with Congestive Heart Failure or Chronic Pulmonary Obstructive Disorder. Please log-on to both boards and join the crowd. You may register by signing on to growthhouse.net/~medicaring. From there, you can also join other discussions on improving end-of-life care.
