Promoting Excellence in End-of-Life Care funds innovative projects of national significance in the field of palliative care. Programs were primarily chosen for their likely ability to substantially improve the quality of care for terminally ill people and their families across a full range of clinical settings.

Particularily targeted are:

Results of the Promoting Excellence experience were featured at the 2004 19th Management and Leadership Conference held in Washington D.C. The title of the session was Expanding the Realm of the Possible: Results from The Promoting Excellence Experience.
