How the grantee used this instrument:
Once a month palliative care lectures are provided to the house staff. Typical
topics include: 1. Gaps in End of life care, 2. What is an Advance Directive,
3. Conducting a family meeting, 4. How to approach patients & families
regarding DNR status, 5. Breaking bad news, 6. Care for the care givers, 7.
Pain & nonpain symptom control, 8. Spirituality, 9. Legal myths of end-of-life
care, etc. It provides a didactic portion, video examples, and interactive
discussion with participants.
