How the grantee used this instrument:
This guidance material
was used by hospice workers throughout rural New Mexico to provide a framework
for pain management. It consists of a mission statement, standards and policies
for pain management, guidelines for pain assessment and intervention for the
cognitively impaired, and an article on the management of chronic pain in older
persons.
