Frequently Asked Questions

What does the score mean?
Our search engine performs a calculation of relevance based on each term which may be used in a search request. The maximum relevancy score a returned item can have is 1.000. Higher scores indicate a higher probability that the retrieved item will be relevant to your request. Documents are listed in order of their estimated relevance to what you asked about.

Where does the document summary come from?
As part of the indexing process our search engine automatically selects a short portion of each page to present as a sample of the content which the page contains. The summarization algorithm selects the "best" sentences, based on internal rules, up to a maximum of 500 characters. Short documents which cover a single topic tend to be the easiest to summarize; long documents which cover many topics can confuse the summarization algorithm, resulting in extracts which may not convey the point of the overall document.
