Welcome to the first PoPCRN "fast feedback" web-based survey. The goal of these fast feedback surveys is to provide quick answers to focused questions that are generated by participating sites, allowing individual sites to compare their experience to that of a number of other organizations. The web-based format allows for rapid sharing of information among many hospice/palliative care organizations.
Based on suggested study topics that we received, the focus of this first fast feedback survey is fall rates. We are asking each site to share their most recently available 12 months of data for number of falls and number of patient days. PoPCRN will then summarize these data, distributing the aggregate findings via the web site, email listservs, and newsletter.
This survey was open for participation between Monday, October 1, 2001 and Friday, October 12, 2001.
Please use the most recently available 12 months of falls and patient days data from your organization to complete the following fields. To assure consist calculation of fall rates, we are asking for (1) the total number of falls and (2) the total number of days all patients were served, during the same 12 month period. PoPCRN will then calculate and report aggregate fall rates (falls / 1000 patient days). If possible, we would like to report fall rates by patient location.
